1. I'd like to continue strength this week. Tuesday will be Andrew's Plyo workout, Thursday will be Ab's mostly, and friday will be light dynamic stretching and balance stuff.
2. There are some RACES this weekend you might be interested in- There's the Eastern HS qualifier at Titcomb mtn on Saturday. Its a 5k classic followed by a 5k skate. Its persuit style so the times are cumulative. There's a few hours in between each race. http://www.mainehighschoolskiing.com/
The other race is the Rangely Loppet. Its a longer race, either 18k or 48k. Skate. There is an 18k classic race as well. http://www.xcskirangeley.com/Loppet.asp
Jeff is racing the Loppet and unless you're feeling hardcore, I think its a better choice because the pressure is low and you'll have more time on your skis to work on your technique.
I'm (james) fairly burnt out on ski racing but if enough of you want to do the EHSQ race I'll either go up and support (wax) for you or I'll organize a QUALIFIED technician to do it for me.
Apparel- We are looking into a team purchase for a top, most likely a technical fleece. The boys will be embroidered with something like Falmouth Nordic Maine State Class A Champions 2012 and the girls will Say Falmouth Nordic, and possibly have your name embroidered on it.
Patagonia team sales division has offered us 50% off their normal pricing and Mrs. Dunwoody is looking into options/prices. We'll have a photo and a price on the blog in a few days. This will be optional.
Understand that the point of having team apparel is to A. have a piece of gear that is good to ski/workout in and B. To look like a well put together team. It makes one feel confident and reminds one that they are on a team that works hard and wins championships.
OK, thanks for slogging through this long post. now turn off your computer and go read a book.
