Pineland Saturday

This weekend, skiers should either try to ski or throw on some snowshoes and take your poles and do a 60-90 minute walk on local trails or do a long roller ski. All of these are optional but strongly recommended. Some local trail maps are at the Falmouth Trails site.

Pineland opened today. Both Sarah Duncan and I will be at Pineland from 1-3PM. Please join us for a tour of the River and Campus loops. Meet in the wax room beside the outdoor center below the visitor center. Arrive early to wax, put on boots, etc. so we can get out as close to 1PM as possible (while the sun is high). Pineland's web site said today that most of the 25K is open and that the trails are fast but icy in a few local spots. Call me tonight if you want a ride (878-6482).

If your family is heading out looking for snow, try Great Glen in Pinkham Notch. They have great trails that are remarkable for their lack of big hills given that they are at the base of a really big hill. That area did not get the rain that we did so they are skiing on packed powder.
