First of all, thanks to everyone who came out and helped with the long ski yesterday. James, Jeff and Luke, it was great to have you!! Now on to events this week; Jan 6th – 10th
1. We strongly encourage athletes to wax at home before the race on Wednesday (preferably Tuesday night); we can provide you with some wax to use at home at Tuesday’s practice. We will be using Ski Go Violet glide wax for the race. This should be applied in one - two layers. For those people that cannot wax at home, we will be setting up the wax room in the middle school on Tuesday night from 7-9 pm. Please let us know if you will be able to attend.
These will be the conditions the day of the race = The snow is going to be transformed from the rain and sleet we’ll be getting, Mon – Tues and the high will be 19 degrees F the day of the race and sunny, with a low around 1 degree F the day before... This means that the people clearing the track will be clearing crunchy snow, it will be fast, and the best wax to use will be Ski Go Violet (operates best in transformed snow between 10 – 32 degrees F)
Monday (Intervals, Skate)
Insanity in the morning with Coach Beliveau
2:35pm = Leave for Pineland
3:10pm = Arrive at Pineland. Start 20 min Warm up

4:10pm = 20 min cool down
4:30pm = Leave for school
If conditions are raining / sleeting so much they interfere with practice will be cutting intervals short at Pineland and we will go back to the school early and continue our workout inside (however we may be hitting a lull with the rain/sleet at that point at Pineland, before 5pm, which is what we should hope for). Please bring appropriate clothing for training in the rain/sleet though to be on the safe side.

When everyone arrives at Pineland they should first get out and warm up and test the condition of the track. You really want to warm up on the race course and determine where you need to be changing your speed, transitioning into different skate gates (V2 vs. V2 alternate), etc. Get to know the course!
