Racing on snow = training on snow

Given our current weather pattern, training on snow doesn't look to be a tool in our toolbox anytime soon. James and I are working hard to create and encourage all on-snow opportunities. One opportunity to consider for your calendar if you want to compete with the big dawgs is the Jan 14th/15th Eastern Cup. Because of snow conditions, both days are at Titcomb Mountain (Saturday was originally scheduled for Bond Brook). J2 racers hoping to make the J2 team should strongly consider racing one or both days. Our top varsity racers should strongly consider racing one or both days. Saturday is classic sprint. Sunday is skate distance (the schedule says 5K for J2, 10K for women, 15K for men but this may change because of conditions). The Sunday race will not be mass start but has been changed to individual start. Online registration for both races is this Thursday Jan 12. The competition at these races is national class so race it for the training and experience. I expect many of the top Maine HS skiers will join you since these are one of the few opportunities to ski,
