Some info on Saturdays classic race -Parents read the P/U drop off paragraph

From John Weston, Fryeburg coach-

Boys at 10:00, Girls at 11:15.

Conditions and Grooming:  I made two tiller passes with the big machine today and set a nice track.  I plan to make one more tiller pass tomorrow and set the course by mid day so things should set up well.  Loose granular conditions = fast but nice snow.  The track set will be a single track, best line with no track on the steep uphill and sharp corners, and a double track for the last k with 3 tracks for the finish zone.

Technique Control:  I (Coach Weston) plan to be on the big uphill (“The Wall”) but I don’t plan to have official technique controllers elsewhere.  I consider any MPA coach to be able to report a violation but two coaches would need to see a violation for a disqualification.  Parents and spectators can not report a violation, even if they have video.   If we need to hold a jury meeting we can randomly grab 3 coaches and do so.  Remember, in untracked corners all turning techniques are allowed.  Therefore I will not have controllers on corners.  The steep uphill is steep and will be herringbone – maybe go over this with your kids.

Parking and Drop Off:  Buses will get priority in the inner lots with first come first serve for spectator parking after that.  I’m told that we have had problems with parents wanting to drive to the trailhead to “drop stuff off” but they then stay parked there, which causes problems.  So it was decided that this would not be allowed, people will just have to walk supplies in, sorry.  If you can let parents know about this it would help avoid parking lot arguments.
