Eastern High School Qualifiers training

You guys absolutely rock at skating so I would say that we need to get on classic skis most of this week. Rumford will have some wacky weather this week and the nice new snow may transform to ice. Saturday is predicted to have highs in upper 30s but I don't know high quickly this will be reached. Also Pineland is more likely than Libby Hill to have good tracks set so I think Pineland is our best choice of practice venue.

Monday - awful weather in forecast. Run on a treadmill or go for an easy ski if weather is not too bad. I cannot make this practice

Tuesday - sunny and 33F. classic at Pineland. I'll have all the wax so we will have guaranteed kick. We don't need any more double pole sessions. No pole striding drills on Campus loop then a few short, race-pace intervals with full recovery just to keep our speed. Something like 3 x 2 minutes. Then more easy striding up hills.

Wednesday - classic at Pineland. 41F cloudy with possibility of snow. mo' striding, mo' striding, mo' striding

Thursday - 22F and sunny. Viking cross on skate skis.

Friday - 28F partly sunny. Easy striding at Pineland.

Saturday - neither James nor I can go to the qualifiers but we are seeing if other area coaches can assist.
