Hi Team!
I'm traveling up and down the east coast on a new reality show until June 26th then I drive out to Colorado for the Hardrock 100. I want to let you all know some of the interesting ways I stay fit while traveling and working 12+ hour days.
1. I ALWAYS take the stairs in my hotel. In fact, I like to do stairwell workouts. This involves running up multiple flights of stairs (my current hotel has 6 floors)skipping a step, then running every step with a fast turnover, hopping up each step, etc.
2. Simple plyometrics in my room and during my lunch break.
3. short FAST runs. Sometimes I just find a short loop and run intervals for 20 minutes or so.
4. On my last day off I drove to the Appalachian Trail in Central Virginia and went for a longish (20 miles)slow mountain trail run, then a swim in a river. It was good for the body and the mind.
If there is one thing I'm learning about my own experience exercising is that I need to enjoy it. Try to find ways to stay in shape that are FUN for YOU.
James

Good call James, FUN is, after all, the reason why we all should be getting out there in the first place. Good luck with your race!
