State Meet info from Mr. Hebson

States Logistics Info

Just a reminder - neither school nor boosters covers expenses of States. Though we might be eligible for some Stimulus $$$ - Collins and Snowe are working on it.

Transpo

Here is some definitive news - we WILL be taking a school bus to States.

I couldn't quite make the numbers work for using parent transport up. But we will rely on car-pooling for the return trip.

Actually, I think we are better off going up as a team. Our expectation is that we travel up as a team and that all skiers will go up on the bus.

We will depart from the HS sometime between 11am and 1pm on Sunday. More details to follow.

Return car-pooling: We have a total of 19 skiers and coaches to bring back. This is what I have as our skier/coach capacity ("skier" includes your child) ...

Hebson - 4 or 5, depending on vehicle (5 or 6, packed tight)
Ventura - 3
Bloch - 2
Follo - 2
D'Agostino - 5
Barbour - 3
Mazur - 3

Total - 22 minimum, so we can manage 19.

Motel - Crown Park Inn, Caribou

We have room for all skiers and coaches at the Crown Park Inn in Caribou. I hope that all skiers choose to stay with the team. Cost is about $85 total for 3 nights lodging (not incl meals), assuming 3 skiers per room.

Motel says they have a hot tub/sauna, but no pool. Pack accordingly.

If your skier is not staying with the team, please let Charlie Hebson know ASAP.

If you are a parent going up and still need a room - we have one free room still available Sun - Wed; a second room available Mon - Wed. They will be released later this week, so let Charlie know if you are interested.

Food

Breakfasts: motel provides a modest "continental breakfast". My idea is to use that and augment it on Mon & Wed, just so we can avoid the hassle of going out. Tues we can go out, also get a change, since we will have more time.

Lunches: suggest we buy lunch at the lodge at Nordic Heritage Center

Dinners: eat out in Caribou or Presque Isle; Sunday dinner, eat in Houlton or Presque Isle.

Snacks: suggest each skier bring his/her own supply. If need be we can also hit a supermarket.

Water: we have a decent supply left over from WMC
